Monthly Tie at Bass Pro & “After the Tie” Christmas Get-together

ALTO “After the Tie” Christmas Get-together

We are all about family and friends.. and spending time together during the Christmas season! As such, we are shifting gears just a bit!!!

This year we will have our December tie on December 13, 2025 from 10 am-12 pm, as usual. HOWEVER, we will extend our hours a bit, and for all of those wishing to join in, we will meet up at Sonora Prime Brazilian Steakhouse (4800 Line Ave, Shreveport) for a DUTCH TREAT Christmas Celebration after the tie. Their lunch special is $24.99 per person (and I can promise you will not leave hungry!! And, IF you do, it will be your own fault!!!! 😉 Ask me how I know this! 🤣😂)

For children 4 and under the meal is FREE.

For ages 4-12 the cost is $12.50 per person.

This would be a great time to bring your spouse and children (or even your grandchildren) with you and let them enjoy in the fun and food, too!!!

NO GIFT EXCHANGE …. just gifting one another with some exceptional company is the plan!!!

Even if you must miss the tie on Saturday morning, but wish to join us for lunch, please do so!!! What we DEFINITELY DO NEED is a fairly accurate headcount so that we can reserve enough space to accommodate our entire group! AS THEY ARE ALREADY BOOKING UP FOR THE HOLIDAYS.

NOTE: There is no ATM on-site!!! Food Truck accepts Cash, Credit and Debit Cards, Apple Pay, etc. ALL OTHER ACTIVITIES ACCEPT CASH DONATIONS ONLY!!!

**Bring your own snacks/drinks/food for both days. We will have Red White Blue Barbecue onsite Saturday MORNING THRU SATURDAY AFTERNOON with breakfast and lunch options. They are VERY REASONABLY PRICED, and delicious, too! There are also restaurants within 10 miles if you’d rather eat out. (See menu below)

ArkLaTexOma (ALTO) Fly Tyers will provide complimentary coffee Friday a.m. and complimentary coffee and donuts Saturday morning!

FOOD TRUCK MENU (SATURDAY ONLY)

Breakfast:

  • Sausage, egg and cheese casserole & drink $10

Lunch:

  • Cowboy sack- Chopped brisket sandwich, chips, cookie & drink  $10

  • Cajun sack- Alligator sausage sandwich, chips, cookie & drink  $10

  • Smoked chicken sack- Smoked chicken sandwich, chips, cookie & drink $10.             

  • Cowboy super sack- Chopped brisket AND alligator sausage sandwich, chips, cookie & drink $16

Friday and Saturday- Keira Quam with the Texas Parks and Wildlife will be onsite. If you haven’t met her, please plan to do so at The Bluegill Bash at Lake O’ the Pines on May 16 and 17th. She will be setting up a display with pertinent info!

Maybe Friday, but for sure on Saturday, Captain Steve “Scooby” Stubbe, Mudfish Adventurers podcaster and Orvis endorsed fly fishing guide will be joining us. If you have questions about fishing Toledo Bend, be sure to chat with Capt. “Scooby’ Stephen Stubbe!!

2025 BLUEGILL BASH ITINERARY:

Friday - 10am to 5pm Fly Tying & Fellowship

Win a 2 hour Bluegill Bash fly fishing trip on Lake O’ The Pines with Guide Dennis North! Tickets are $10 donation each and will be available beginning Friday May 16th at 10 am and ending Saturday May 17th at 11:59 am. Winner will be drawn at 12 noon on Sat. May 17th

Raffle tickets are also available beginning Friday May 16th at 10 am and ending Saturday May 17th at 3:15pm. Drawings begin at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 17th!

Friday, after the tie, (weather permitting) we will build a fire and sit around and tell stories about “the one that got away” 😂🤣 and then maybe some fish stories!!!

PLEASE BRING FOLDING CHAIRS AND TABLES, if possible. We may not need them; however, we are not certain how many to expect, altho we did ask for RSVP. Just wanting to be on the safe side!!!!

Saturday May 17- 8am to 5pm Tying & Fishing

Coffee and donuts will be provided by ArkLaTexOma (ALTO) Saturday morning

(Don’t forget the Food Truck will also have a Breakfast option)!

  • Free Casting Lessons throughout the day! See Mike Hawkins and Jerald Lewis for some expert fly fishing instructions. (Bring your own fly fishing rods if you wish and there will be a limited supply provided for you to use if you do not have one)

  • 8-10 a.m.-FISHIN’ hole! - Like Cornhole but better! Using casts NOT bags. $1.00 donation per ticket gets you 3 casts!! Buy 1 ticket or 10! If you do not like your score, go back, buy another ticket, and play again! THE WINNER WILL DIVIDE THE POT WITH ALTO! The more people play, the bigger the pot!

  • 1 -3 p.m.- Mystery Fly Tournament- $10 Donation to enter gets you 2 flies to fish with! Rules explained on-location prior to the tournament! Winner will receive a 4 wt Rudder Rod donated by Grey Wolf Fly Shop in Shreveport, LA (Howard Malpass).

  • 1-3 p.m.- Winner of the Bluegill Bash Fly Fishing trip will join Dennis North and fish the Mystery Fly Tournament, too!

  • Bank fishing as well as watercraft for those not fishing the tournament !

  • 3:30-5 ish p.m. - Raffle of donated items!

We are eagerly looking forward to this fun event and making lots of new friends. If possible, please plan to join us!
